"Slow to Remember"

He really wanted to be sure I captured him dunking the basketball!

Love that hair sticking up!
I am sad to admit that I am exceedingly slow to remember. Slow to remember how quickly childhood passes, slow to remember these children are on loan from our Father, slow to remember we all make mistakes (and I've made more than my share), slow to remember how young they are...

I recently needed to get an ultrasound. During an annual visit, my ob/gyn thought I might have a cyst in one of my virtually nonexistant breasts. With a history of my mom having had breast cancer removed at an early stage, my doctor wanted to be sure. Some friends stayed with the kids, and off I went to the imaging center at the hospital. After the pictures were taken and I laid on the table waiting to hear from the radiologist, it was very humbling to seriously contemplate the possibilities. What if he comes back and he tells me the unthinkable...am I ready? Is my life in order? What kind of a person have I been? Does my family know how much I love them? Am I anywhere close to the person I need to be? On and on... Well, fortuantely all looked clear...for a while I held my kids closer, took a trillion more pictures...and in times of frustration, realized I need to work on not being so slow to remember...my eternal perspective!

You are so correct in reminding us to remember what is important! I am so glad everything checked out OK for you! How scary! I have to admit the comment you made describing your "parts" made me chuckle. The girls in our family all joke that we take after our dad in that area. LOL
