Malia was ecstatic when her soccer team picked the name she suggested, "Power Girls".

It's been awhile since we awarded our 2nd Mile Award. By 4pm yesterday afternoon, all of the kids had earned it, except Makayla. I suggested she keep an eye on her brothers during Malia's practice while I sat in the car and worked on my lesson for Sunday. Naturally, I still had to keep an eye on the boys too. We did pretty well until 10 minutes before practice ended.

Jared had been hanging out with me in the van, and had just headed back out to play. I forgot to remind Makayla to keep an eye on him too now. Everything looked okay so I began reading again.

Meanwhile, a younger brother of one of Malia's teammates picked up a stick and was swinging it around. Apparently it was really large, and Jared wasn't paying attention. When Jared turned around, he got whacked really well, right in the nose. Poor guy. He was bleeding alot. The boy's father carried him over. I really wish I had Nat's nursing skills and knowledge! I cleaned him up with some baby wipes and we headed home.

The first thing Jason asked was, "What happened to Jared, did he get hit in the nose with a stick?" I thought Makayla had told him, so I asked how he knew. He replied that's just what it looks like. When Jared got closer Jason observed that it looked like it was broken.

I've never seen a broken nose. But it doesn't surprise me, if it is, that Jared would be the first of our children to get one.

Poor Jared! Did you take him in? Probably not much they would do even if it is broken? Kids bones are still so soft that hopefully it just bruised it bad. Love the video of the bruiser brothers! LOL

SO Jeremey is our one that broke his nose. He did an "endo" off the front of his "Big Wheel"! I called the Dr. and the Dr. told me there is nothing they do for broken noses! I'm pretty sure that even if Makayla had been right there watching, it would have all happened soo fast that no one could have prevented it from happening. Swinging sticks - bad idea!! Where was that kid's mom or dad? Big fish Makayla! Wow!! I am impressed!! I'm sad we won't get top see the soccer girls in action this year :(. We're cheering for them anyway!! Lots of cute pictures & videos to make Grandma SMILE!!!

I loved Derek's static hair! That's great! I am so sorry about Jared's nose. I bet that hurt! It does kind of look like it could be broken, but it could be lots of swelling too. Like it was said before, they won't do much for him unless it wouldn't stop bleeding. Hope it heals up fast, until then he will just look like a real BIG bruiser brother! He's still adorable!!! Malia is the cutest little soccer player on her team! Great team name! Makayla, thank you for the note and picture you sent to us. We loved it! Hugs from all of us!!!
