If You Ask Mom for a Cookie

If you ask Mom for a cookie, chances are she'll be in the middle of doing something.

Like looking for something small that may have fallen down the vent.

She tells you she'll get you one as soon as she's done.

She removes the vent cover to find, which means, she'll have to clean it up.

You get tired of waiting for her, so you go up to your room.

When she's finished, she comes to find you.

She can't remember what you asked her. You ask her for a cookie.

"Right", she says.

You both head down the stairs.

Heading down the stairs, she hears someone in the bathroom.

She'll wonder who it is. Maybe it's your brother that's getting potty trained. She goes to investigate.

She thinks he is washing his hands! She goes in to see if he needs any help, and finds, he's holding a cup.
"Let's get you a drink in the kitchen." she says, remembering the soaking wet towels, and mysterious puddles in the bathroom.

When she's finishing getting Derek a drink, Jared walks into the kitchen.

"Do you like my picture?" Jared asks.
"Yes, very much." Mom says.

Then Jared starts to explain it to her.

You get tired of waiting. You head back toward the stairs. When you get to the entryway, you see your new roller blades that you and your Dad ordered with your soccer goal money. You try them on.

Mom wants to take your picture. She takes your picture, even if you're not quite ready.

Putting the camera back, she'll remember you asked her for something from the kitchen.

She'll go into the kitchen.

Seeing the fridge will remind her that she's thirsty.

She finds you in the entryway, with a glass of milk in her hand.

You sigh. If you ask Mom for a cookie, chances are, you will get a glass of milk, instead.

You are so creative Suzy! Malia, I am so impressed that you earned all that money to buy your own blades! I think your Dad is going to go broke with all those athletic super stars under one roof!!
