Some Things Old, Some Things New
It actually felt like spring yesterday! With the warm weather, the kids needed to dig out their shorts and t-shirts. It was bittersweet when I got out the next size clothes for Derek, which were worn last summer by Jared. Jared was so excited, "I remember that! I remember wearing that!"
It was very sad early this morning when Derek woke up crying and told me his legs hurt! I think he's having some growing pains!:( Sadly, me telling the kids to stop that (growing) is not working! :(
Wednesday night we got an unexpected knock on our door. For mutual they did a scavenger hunt type activity. They went to various homes asking for something bigger or better than what they brought to your door, that you could part with. We received this horse, in exchange for one of Makayla's dresses from when she was two. The kids LOVE it.
Yesterday Malia brought home some sourdough bread that she made at school. It was quite the process. She was so kind to share. It was yummy. She wanted her picture taken by the temple picture we finally found a spot for.
Yesterday a friend of ours invited us to tour one of the firestations with her and her kids. We went to the one closest to us, and found out that they only did tours at the newer one. Derek was so disappointed. I wasn't sure we'd have time to drive over to the other one and take a tour before I needed to pick up the kids from school, so we met one of Logan's cousins at a park and played for a little bit instead. We're taking a tour rain check for Monday. Derek and I are excited to try new things like this together!
