Family Campout 2012

We went on a really quick camping trip this weekend to the Oregon Coast.
When we left Grants Pass Friday night it was in the 100s. When we reached Harris Beach it was 60 degrees!
Saturday morning we went for a walk to a beach close to our campsite. The tide was low and we saw several sea stars. It was exciting to see them in their natural habitat! I wish I had the camera. They're so beautiful! (Jason walked back to the campsite and brought back the camera and the car). Most of the kids had their swimsuits on under their clothes.
True to form, the Oregon Coast was very chilly, especially in the water. The kids played as long as they could before they succumbed to the cold.
While we were eating lunch at the campsite, Jason explained that he had one more beach he wanted to take us to. The kids were VERY cold at this point. He explained it would most likely be warmer there. He also said they probably won't be able to resist the water, so they should stay in their suits. Jared was the only one that listened. As you can see, he didn't regret following his Dad's advice!

I must confess, I am not a fan of camping, and went EXTREMELY reluctantly. I cringe to admit, I basically only went to spend time with my family (all 5 of whom enjoy it). I have the sweetest husband by the way...Despite all of the things that were forgotten, I think we managed to still have some fun, and definitely make some memories.

What a fun way to spend the weekend! I loved hearing all about it from Malia too! The only thing that would be better is to stay at a hotel on the beach - right Suzy! :) OH yeah!!

Now that's love! What a great mother you are to go along with the camping. I think camping is hardest on Moms! Looks like a beautiful place!
