This little light of mine...

Makayla was in a school musical called, "The Friendship Colors". She was the main character, the color red. Red wanted a friend. Happily in the end she got some. She did such a fantastic job. As one of our friends who came to see her said, "She's a natural!" I didn't know she had even tried out until the music teacher came up to me and told me her audition went really well! As we were walking home I asked her what she auditioned for and that was the first I had heard about it from Makayla. She also learned her lines all on her own!
It was pretty cute to watch her two days before the family performance. She asked me for the ward list and started inviting ward members to her show. About half of the people she invited came. Those who couldn't were very happy to have been invited!
She also performed in two school assemblies. It was very nice to have teachers stop me and tell me what a cute girl I've got, and what a good job she did. I guess all the drama at home came in handy, eh? :) What a talented girl you are Makayla!
