One of our neighbors recently had surgery on her foot and found she wasn't able to walk her dog. She asked if Makayla would like to do that for a job. Naturally Makayla was thrilled! But like so many other things her brother and sister wanted in on the action. Sister Wilson said she thought Chewy (short for Chewbacca) would mind Makayla the best, but Makayla is sweet about letting her siblings come too. They also help check the mail, and other odd jobs. It's a pretty neat arrangement, they get to play with a dog, get some exercise and all the grooming and vet trips are taken care of by someone else! It's fun to see their faces light up when they are rewarded with a nickel or two, and when they eventually get to fill out their own tithing slip and hand their envelope to Dad or the Bishop!

What a cute doggie - but not nearly as cute as the dog walkers!! I have always been impressed with what an amazing big sister Makayla is. She has always been so great about sharing everything with the younger ones! Someday I hope they realize just how lucky they are. My kids were really lucky too. They had Jason for their big brother and I know every one of them will tell you they were so lucky to have such a great big brother. Way to go Makayla!! You are growing up to be an amazing person. We love you all!!
Sounds like the perfect gig! It almost seems like a reward more than a job... I'm sure those kids think it's so fun.
