Recently when we picked Malia up from school she started animatedly begging to participate in cheer camp. She listed all of her friends that were going, and it made me smile to see her so excited. Seriously, Monday felt like I was in fast forward all day! A friend and I were talking Monday night and she said it sounds like I've entered into a new chapter of my life. I'm terrified to realize she's right!
Yesterday while waiting to pick up Malia a friend asked if the baby was in the bike trailer with Jared. I said yes, and when I helped Derek out she was surprised. "That's your baby! He's walking! I was expecting him to still be a baby. That happened so fast... at least for me, maybe not for you!..." But I could only sadly agree...
Yesterday Makayla played "Mary had a little lamb" on her viola for our friend down the street, her mom, and her friend visiting from California after we walked Chewy (their dog). I regretted not having my camera to take video, but I'll post a clip later. It was bittersweet to see her shyly smiling and accepting all of the compliments and thanking her for sharing with them...all the while looking too grown up! :( I feel like I'm in mourning, it's all happening too quickly!! But I must be of good cheer, I'm so blessed to have these precious little ones in my life to keep me insanely busy creating fun memories to "warm me in the Decembers of my life" (I think that was how President Monson has put it)!
Jared has been patiently waiting to type too...

I am in a state of shock too! How did they grow up so fast!? Such cute videos - but Jason better hide the pots and pans too! :) I love how Makayla was lounging on her bed reading and trying to ignore the noise and chaos going on around her! Too funny! Thanks for all of your fun blog posts! It really helps ease the pain of being so far away from those precious little ones! Hugs to all!
Oops- I think I combined your two last posts when I commented on the last. More cute pictures here! We love y'all!
Suzy - I need you to check your e-mail and write me back!
I agree. They are growing up way too fast and it's been way too long since I saw all of you.
Ditto to the growing up too fast! It's crazy how things just speed by. I guess that's why we just have to enjoy every minute...including the pre-dinner show! What cuties! The videos were fun! Maybe a future BYU cheerleader in the works???? NEVER KNOW!!
I just had to let you know how much I love reading this. It is so wonderful to keep up with your family.
