Another busy weekend

Derek was riding around the house in style, shuttled around by Malia. Eventually she wanted to watch the computer playing.

Saturday we were invited to attend a Client Appreciation BBQ for Country Financial over at the All-Sports Park. It was so fun. There was face painting, cotton candy, a bouncy structure and yummy food. We even ran into some people we knew. Some from our soon to be ward, and some from our current ward.

Derek was thrilled when he found out he could have a "Di-knee-saur" painted on his face!

We got home with enough time to get the kids into swimming suits, grab towels, and head over to their swim lessons.

Malia went first and was devastated that her gorgeous face painting got washed off. I think she wished it would have stayed on for the ward BBQ that we had about an hour and a half after we got back from swimming!!

Makayla was so worn out by the time we got to swim lessons. Wednesday night she was invited by some friends to a local indoor trampoline air park, and Dairy Queen. The rest of us met our relator, her husband (who is also a plumber) and a contractor friend of hers at our new place while sellers were loading up their moving trucks to check out a few things, and have the sellers show us how a few things work before they left.

Thursday afternoon one of her friends that she met a few years ago on a soccer team picked her up so Makayla could spend the night. They spent awhile riding scooters at a park while her day played some baseball. Friday they spent the afternoon at a waterpark. Friday night, at the last minute, Makayla spent the night again, and Saturday morning she went with them to the Grower's Market, while we were at the appreciation BBQ.

In addition to all of the playing, Makayla was sad that her friend's family's lives aren't as centered around food as our family's is. Makayla thought she was starving to death, as we drove to swim lessons. She was also commenting on how sore her arms and legs were as we drove to swim lessons. And even after all of that she still managed to play hard at our ward BBQ. She did stick pulling, three legged racing, tag, a little volleyball...Perhaps it was all the yummy food that she refueled with at our ward BBQ!

Jared was very excited about his Holy Ghost reminders he got in Primary today. A few weeks ago he got the missionary name tag. It's been pretty cute. We'll be sitting at the table, and Jared will tap my arm and whisper, "Is this what the Holy Ghost sounds like?" He would have the biggest smile on his face and twinkle in his eye when I would tell him, "Sometimes. That's the reason why his is often called, 'the still, small voice' ".

Busy as always around your house, huh? Sounds like a ton of fun though. What's happening with the houses now?

Fancy face painting for sure!! I can see why the kids were sad to have it wash off! I'm glad the kids got into swim lessons finally. How do they like them compared to Myrna's? Thanks for taking time to blog :) when I know you are crazy busy!! You know how much Grandma depends on it to make her day!! How I love all those cute little faces!!
