Another whirlwind of a weekend! (Unabridged version:) )

Happy to be reunited with her Snuggie! :)
Makayla's behind that book!

This was one of the items on Makayla's desk during the Open House. In one pocket she had words that described her. In the other pocket she chose words that describe what she likes to do. Yup, definitely a Daddy's girl! When it came to the part where she chose words that described her, one was "Teaser" and another was "Prankster". :)

In soccer news, Makayla's team won their first game! Hallelujah! It was in Talent, which is south of here, about 45 minutes, almost to Ashland, but not quite. All of the ladies on her team played SO WELL. They played as a team. It was a beautiful thing to behold. As they were warming up before the game, Jason was noticing how many girls were on the other team. They had 16 or 17 compared with our 9.

Makayla was so pleased that she got to be the keeper for the first half. Naturally, she was awesome! She also scored on a penalty kick in the second half. Once we got home, the little rascal kept telling Jason, "Don't you remember, we agreed that I'd get $10.00 for every goal?" :)

Malia had the Saturday off, whew. She was a sweetheart. During Jared's game, because the field he was on was close to the playground, Malia played on the playground with Derek so Jason and I could watch Jared's game. She thought it was funny that Derek wanted to be her little shadow.

Jared scored four goals at his game!! I'm so glad. Yesterday morning he woke up and didn't want to go to his game. He said he would never score! You've just gotta keep trying, and just have fun, we reminded him. Besides, "You get to bring the snacks today!" I reminded him, which helped get him a little more jazzed.

Jason felt badly that Jared had Malia's cleats that had her pink Nike swooshes and accents. He hurriedly spray painted one of the swooshs red, and the bottom of the cleats (which were pink) black. Of course he only had time for one coat, and not even over all the pink, so in desperation, he painted the other swooshes with red finger nail polish. It did the job for Jared's game, but wore off on the playground in Talent! Jared liked his red accents. Looks like there's another project before next Saturday. :)

As we got closer to the school where Jared played he said, "I've waited all my years to play soccer!" :)

It was sweet after Jared's game to see the girls giving extra snacks to younger siblings.

As soon as we got home, I changed and headed over to the stake center for the RS Broadcast. Wasn't it wonderful? We tied quilts for a local shelter for homeless men, chatted and had a delicious dessert before the broadcast. It was the boost I needed.

Jason and I were laughing as we were getting Derek's jammies on last night. He LOVES his pumpkin jammies, but it's getting colder at night and he gets out from his blankets. We had to put another pair of jammies under his pumpkin ones. He was having NONE of it. Seriously that little feather weight is STRONG. His face was turning red with rage, and he was thrashing around, shouting, "PUMPKIN JAMMIES, NO shark!!" Jason had to help me, he was so squirmy.

The kids were jealous that we had an at home date after they went to bed. We watched the Prince of Persia. We really liked it!

Friday night we had dinner on an old bedsheet in the front room and watched Tinkerbell, the Great Fairy Rescue. It was a really cute show. We've liked all the Tinkerbell movies. It was even entertaining for Jared (When we were at Makayla's practice he groaned when I told him the movie we'd rented from the Redbox! Tinkerbell?! I don't want to watch Tinkerbell!!) Ha, ha... It made me smile to hear the kids say, "I've gotta see this movie!" when previews for Tangled (Disney's take on Rapunzel) were on.

Jason has a continuing ed class today in Medford. I'm glad he'll be home in time for dinner!
