Anniversary Weekend

Saturday Jason and I celebrated our 11th Anniversary! Some friends of ours invited us to camp and play at the reservoir. Well, as you can see Jason, Derek and the girls had a blast with our friends! (Thank you SO much)!!

Around Tuesday, Jason and I noticed that Jared felt a little warm. He had a 100 degree fever. We didn't think too much of it, and crossed our fingers that he would be feeling better by Friday night. Wednesday night after work Jason noticed that Jared was talking kind of funny. I thought he was just conjested, and had been keeping an eye on his fever, but didn't really pay attention until Jason brought it to my attention. By Thursday afternoon I was getting more concerned. His fever was higher, and he was still talking funny. Jason took him to the doctor right after work, and his tonsils were SO swollen, they were touching his uvula. And his mouth had a LOT of white growth in it. The Dr. said it was strep and prescribed some antibiotics. He told Jason Jared wouldn't be contagious by Saturday. We contemplated meeting our friends Saturday, but I just didn't want to risk it, and Jared still had a fever. We decided for Jared and I to just have some one on one time at home while everyone else went. By Friday afternoon Jared still was 102.

Jared liked being the activity director. :) We played games, watched a movie with popcorn, and it was very fun to just enjoy Jared's company. It made me smile when Jared mentioned yesterday that he really liked spending the time with "just us two". :)

Jason and I also enjoyed some couple time!! It's been fun to think about how we were celebrating 11 years ago, and how we had no clue what we were getting in to! But I must confess being married to Jason and raising a family has FAR exceeded any expectations!! Although there have been times where the trials have been way more challenging than anything I've experienced before, I can also say that there has also been much joy, greater than I ever imagined!

Happy Anniversary! life has a way of messing up plans for sure! Way to roll with the punches! I was way impressed with Makayla's skill on the wake board! But could you please insist that she quit growing up!!! Yikes! Hope you are feeling better Jared!

Happy Anniversary! Sorry things didn't go quite as planned, but I'm glad you all had fun anyways.

Wow! The water looks amazing! And Makayla looks like a pro out there.

Happy (belated) Anniversary! I'm sorry your weekend didn't turn out how you'd planned! Seems like that happens a lot with kids but sounds like you made the best of it and had some special time with Jared.
