We had a yummy breakfast, and while Jason and Makayla went to clean at the church, and run some errands, the other kids played very nicely while I talked on the phone with family!
When Jason and Makayla came back we went swimming, and then had some lunch. Derek took a nap, and Makayla treated me to a pedicure! (We found some inexpensive quick dry polish a few days ago, and the girls have really enjoyed it) :) Sunday morning she did my fingernails. When Derek woke up we opened presents, and started enjoying some of them!
We had a special birthday dinner, with delicious root beer. Derek doesn't usually like root beer, but he drank the IBC! Thanks Carmen!
Afterward I didn't have room for ice-cream cake yet, so we went for a bike ride. We were just about home when Jared decided to give me the gift of a near heart attack!
We were crossing Bridge Street, and without looking, he calmly went pedaling into the intersection with cars approaching in both directions! I jumped off my bike and ran out into the crosswalk after him. Fortunately one car turned left before they reached us, and the other two cars stopped and waited for us! All to which Jared says, "I knew those cars would stop for me!" Arrr! We again talked about bike/street safety, and he stuck with his original reaction...Today he remembered to look as we've been outside walking.
It was fun to enjoy some time with Jason after the kids were in bed.
I'm looking forward to enjoying some of the other gifts too! I definitely have many blessings to count!!

Best birthday present ever- Kids that behave on your birthday! (Well...hugs and kisses too!) Way to make Mom happy guys! Love the painted toe nails - it is so fun to have daughters old enough to "hang out with". Happy Birthday Suzy! Glad you had a great day!
