Saturday morning while Jason made breakfast (what a thoughtful hubby!), I supervised while Jared and Malia decorated the cupcakes we donated to the tri-ward party's cake walk. Shortly after, was Jared's last game.
When we got home, Makayla worked on her project for school some more. That's what the clothespins were for. She decorated them like Native Americans. She told me which tribe they were representing. It wasn't one I had heard of and I can't remember the name. Earlier last week, she didn't want to wait to get yarn from the store to make hair, so I donated some of mine! Jason trimmed a little off the bottom. That's one of the benefits of having so much, I don't even miss it, and you can't even tell!;) She worked on it until it was time for her game.
It was so close. In the last few minutes Makayla's team tied it up, and right before the whistle blew to finish the game the other team scored. :( Makayla has at least one more soccer game. Originally there weren't any playoff games on the schedule, so we'll probably find out more after her practice tonight.
Then we got all dressed up, and off to the party. It was really fun. We ended up with two goldfish! One of our friends came up to Makayla and very sadly said her Dad wouldn't let her keep it (they had given away all of their fish stuff). Makayla was thrilled with the generous gift. Malia ended up with the second one. She went to get a drink of water. I guess she went to the table where they were handing the goldfish out. When she put the cup to her lips she realized, there was a fish inside! They seem to be doing okay with all of our guppies.
It was so cute to watch how excited the kids became while passing out candy to the trick or treaters.
It made me smile to see Makayla's managerial side take over when it came time to bake and decorate the sugar cookies. It was very nice. I just kept an eye on Derek, put the cookies in the oven, took them out when they were done, and enjoyed sampling some custom picked cookies! Makayla took over rolling out the dough, and supervised her brother and sister with using the cookie cutters. My kind of cookie making! :)
Jared picked out this Dragon's Lair smilebox. For me, having the kids make the holidays so much more fun!

What a scary cool smilebox! Your party looked like tons of fun! I laughed over your girls! Malia dressed as a beautiful white fairy princess or I think she was a good witch) and Makayla dressed all in black and red like a ninja! Seriously could they be any more different! Very cute! And the boys of course were very handsome! :) I love the Indian project, Makayla! You are always so creative! :) Hugs and Kisses to all!
