This morning Derek went into Malia's room and got out her Ponyville ferris wheel. Yup, those are frogs, a snake, and a baby dinosaur going for a ride.We had a little time to kill before picking up Makayla and the girls from school. We ended up at the park where Malia had practice and Makayla had the majority of her games. Naturally, the kids could not stay out of the trees!

Makayla and her friend, Alyssa, were in Makayla's room this afternoon. I had some folded clothes for her to put away. I knocked on the door. There is uncontrollable laughter coming from the other side of the door. I'm allowed in. Makayla has a shirt on her head. I get a little nervous. She shows me the Asian inspired hairstyle. I ask if I can take a picture. Alyssa says Makayla will do her hair, and then they would take pictures, and she'd like copies.
Ah, to be a middle school age girl!

Saturday, in the mostly pouring rain, we had 5 soccer games. They were shorter halves with no halftime. I don't think I could've survived 5 regular length games!Makayla had 3. Malia was supposed to have three also, but thankfully the team that she was playing for the 3rd game forfeited!! A friend of ours had 8 games to go to! (She also had one more child playing)
Jason was at a continuing ed class in Portland that weekend.
Makayla's team won their first two. Both scores were 1-0. Makayla scored both goals. They were back to back games. They had an hour break between the second and third game. The last one was a tie 0-0. Makayla's shots were a little off, and something seemed to be going on. I thought maybe she was getting cold or tired...Before the last game was over, Makayla did this to her cleat.

She subbed out to show her coach. He found a pink sock lying on the field and put it on the outside of her cleat, so that she could keep playing. I had no idea any of this happened until after the game. It made a lot more sense!!
Thankfully, we got those cleats during a cleat swap.
Malia's team won one and tied one.
Not having soccer practices to chauffer for tonight, was very fun for me!!

What great, pictures! Makayla looks so grown up and beautiful as ever! I love the changing fall leaves! (Wish we had that here)
Derek makes me laugh - what a funny boy! Malia"s legs look so dang long hanging down - yikes!! That girl is growing up too! And Miss Makayla in her Asian do is just too cute! I'm glad she has such a great friend to hang out with in her own room!! :) And of course J-Boy is as handsome as ever with a smile that warms Grandma through and through!
