Hatts Uncut

Today after church, while I was getting our food out to reheat, Jason caught Derek getting into his gingerbread house.

Another painting project! I loved having a forest green table. It went really well with our forest green posts, and the forest green trim in the kitchen at our old place. However, I felt that it was clashing in our dining room. That one can of black exterior paint still has lots of paint left in it! Woo hoo! I'm loving the new look so far!! I'm finding one coat isn't enough, I missed tons of spots on the backs of the bars on the chairs-but of course, after devoting about 4 hours to this project, life shouldn't be put on hold any longer so I could finish it all in one day, so we're living among a project.

Yesterday the kids finally got to decorate their tiny houses. The kids didn't want to wait any longer, so while Jason and I were working on our Thanksgiving dinner (We were invited to a friend's on the actual Thanksgiving, and Thanksgiving leftovers are a favorite of ours, so we had Thanksgiving, part 2 :)), Makayla decided to take charge.

It's pretty crazy before church at our house. We didn't get around to taking pictures of the kids in their pretty and handsome outfits & jewlery from G&G until after church. Malia apparently was pretty hungry by then too!

Derek moved, and the camera in the phone is definitely not meant for action shots.

I contemplated trying to take pictures next week. Jason took these while I was warming up lunch. I realized, the reason why I wanted to retake these pictures was because they didn't show us at our best, but you know, most days, this is just how we roll...

I have to say they just make me giggle! Life is never dull at your house these days! Your fireplace and mantle looks so cute! I bet you are having fun decorating your new house. After we moved into our house that we are in now, I spent all my Christmas money that year on garlands etc. at the after Christmas sales! :) I loved your green table too but the black looks really great as well! Painting those chairs would be a definite PAIN!! Good luck! Keep up the good work!

I love all of your painting projects! I'm sure you are having fun decorating! The kids look great! We understand how hard it is to get pictures these days and we have 1pm church but you are right- that's real life.
