I'm thankful for those creative people in my children's lives who do cool things like this with them! I'm just not there yet.
It is comforting to remember that if I was meant to be the only person to fulfill my kiddos' every need, then we wouldn't all be down here with different gifts, abilities, talents, and experiences!! All have not every gift, to some is given one, and to others another, that all may benefit!
I appreciate this quote from Elder Holland, "If you try your best to be the best parent you can be, you will have done all that a human being can do and all that God expects you to do."
I want to say (please, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, it happens quite often) that while I was reading the book, "Glimpses", there was a quote from Sis. Hinckley which went something to the effect of, "My best may not be your best, but it's my best". Our "best"s don't all look the same. It's hard for me to remember that; and not compare, and feel that I am deficient.
It is also encouraging to know that just because I don't already have a gift, that doesn's mean I'm just out of luck. I'm to seek the best gifts. They can be developed, or gifted from our Father in Heaven as I ask, and work hard! My best can continually be made better with divine help! Very comforting thoughts to me!!
What a blessing to have a gospel perspective (along with creative and talented friends and family :) ) !
Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Oh no! Grandma is in big trouble - "cute" is one of my favorite descriptive words! What are you talking about Suzy? I think you are very artistic and creative! PLUS I don't know of anyone who is more willing and open to learning to do new things that they have never done before! :)
What a great post! You are so right about us all having different talants to give. It's so hard not to compare and wish we could just do everything perfectly. I think you are a very talented person and a wonderful mother!
I loved Elder Uchtdorf's talk at the Relief Society meeting last month. We just can't compare! Remember that some people are looking at you and wishing they had your amazing talents and gifts too! And Mom is right... I admire how willing you are to always try something new and learn and improve.
