Swine Wars??

So Thursday night Malia wasn't feeling well. Friday morning, no fever. We let her go to school, play soccer in crummy weather, had dinner with friends...we all go to church, visit with friends Sunday, and come Monday night, we notice a fever (UGH, I contributed to an epidemic!!)...which she's had ever since. Malia was devastated that she missed her very first soccer pizza party! Homemade pizza in the family room and a movie weren't the same...She missed school yesterday, today, and will miss tomorrow. Even with make-up work, homework, read at home, the poor thing is getting bored!

Today, Jason missed work, and is not going tomorrow either. He has a hacking cough, fever, and body achces...Poor guy. The more people I talk to who have had kids with the swine flu, or had it themselves have said this is what these symptoms sound like...and they all said 7-10 days if not more! :( GRRRRR!

Makayla had a soccer game tonight. I went by myself. I wish I would have videoed it!! She scored the only two goals in the first few minutes of the game, had some great steals, she was on fire!! The second half she was the goalie and had some INCREDIBLE blocks, a split saving dive...I was so wrapped up in the action, I forgot I had brought the video camera. The game was really intense. Everyone played so well! They kept the other team from scoring! They have another game on Friday! I'm so nervous and excited for her! If they win this game, they'll be in the running for 1st - 4th place in Grants Pass U-10 (under 10). After the game, Makayla handed me a flyer for a special developemental team. She has to try out, and they travel...I don't know if I'm ready for that yet!!

The boys got flu shots Monday at Derek's appointment, so I'm crossing my fingers for them, Makayla and myself...Maybe the rest of us need to get shots too!

Can't get over all his energy!

Oh no!! I am so sorry! My poor little Malia! They told us the flu shots take a couple of weeks to reach maximum protection levels - so the boys might not be spared!! The worst is when Mom gets sick too - 'cause nobody takes care of her!! Be strong Suzy!!! All of you - get better soon! Makayla- Way to be so tough! We wish we had seen you in action! You are awesome!! We love you!!

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear you are dealing with sickness! I hope it's not the flu and that the rest of you stay healthy!! My bro and his wife got the swine and it lasted about a week with perscription medicine. Hang in there!
